Demigods look like members of their mortal lineage, although they tend to have more ideal bodies due to their godly parentage, epitomizing the height of their mortal species and usually have traits carried from their godly parent. This can range from simple physical characteristics such as common eye or hair color; similar facial shape or voice. However, the biggest giveaway of their divine origin is the bright red, almost golden colored blood that runs through their veins that resembles a godly ichor.
While most people exist complacently somewhere between good and evil, content to putter along in their dull lives exhibiting neither great heroism nor dastardly villainy, a demigod is never ordinary to anything more than passing observation. They may indeed go many years at a time without doing anything noteworthy, but they infallibly either prove themselves the most selfless and noble of saints or the most depraved and demonic of persons.
Being as they have a far greater capacity for good or ill than mortals, there is ultimately little in way of grey about their personalities. There are few who can understand the strange dynamic a demigod has with their godly parent so for a demigod to seek out others of its kind is not uncommon despite the uniqueness of their kind.
However, of all the races that exist within the world, the aasimar are a people whom demigods feel the greatest connection towards.
Their celestial origins along with this shared sense of conflicted purpose cause them to be largely understanding of each other and as such demigods feel the greatest sense of community in these societies.
A sense that often becomes lost to them in their early teens when they begin to manifest their divine powers. For as long there have been gods, there have been the half-blood children of them. Though often the result of a direct union of a deity and a mortal, however, different circumstance may cause a demigod to be born in another way. Demigods often grow to become great heroes or terrible villains.
The tales of individual demigods are told in legend, that is their history.
Such legends are Achilles, the hero of the great Trojan war, the famed Heracles and his many exploits, Karna, the son of the Sun god Surya, Bragi, son of Odin and so on. Each forged a legend of themselves through their great and not so great deeds and it is by the legends they live on.
In the way, a cleric has a connection to his or her deity a demigod has that same connection with a more personal touch. Whereas a god may be distant from their cleric only giving them occasional pushes in the right direction, a god may appear before their child in a more direct fashion to grant insights into their quests and may even perform miracles the demigod wouldn't be able to themselves. However, while there are demigods that are close enough to their godly parents to request such things there are demigods who despise or even hate their parents as well as those whose godly parents haven't even acknowledged the divine blood that courses through them.
Normally the first meeting of a demigod and their parent sets the tone for the relationship and it is up to your Dungeon Master to determine the nature of the relationship. Your Dungeon Master may roll on the Parentage Table instead if they wish. Many beings including yourself have a connection to the celestial realm your godly parent makes their home.
Particular beings or creatures can tell of the connection you and they both possess, most the time these are celestial, fey, fiends or other creatures like a medusa or minotaur and their relationships with the divine will normally affect their relationship with you.
For example, a celestial being that comes across you may react to you in a variety of ways given the deity that created them. They may see you like an angelic guide sees an aasimar and approach you with an interest, driven by a sense of responsibility or they may assist you in some minor way to allow you to continue to forge your own path while also gaining favor from your godly parent. However, on the other side of the coin, they may react violently to your presence as not all demigods are the spawn of good-aligned deity's and seek to smite you or deal with you in some other way.
Fiends may try to use or trick you as part of an attempt to gain more power. Fey may find you simply be too interesting to pass up and mischievously follow you from place to place.The warforged are a relatively new race being created by House Cannith during the Last War in YK for the purposes of warfare. The Warforged are sentient constructs and have free will, which earned them the same rights as human citizens in each of their homelands in YK under the Treaty of Thronehold. Living Construct: Warforged are living constructs and do not need to eat, drink, sleep or breathe.
In this mode the warforged only need 4 hours until they are considered fully rested. Warforged in 5th edition have bonuses to Constitution. Warforged can have unique personality traits though, being constructs, they are restricted in some ways. They experience anger, pain, fear and hatred like their human creators; not all warforged are incredibly reserved and pensive, hiding an array of emotions behind their metallic face.
Their faces were not designed to display facial expressions and so it can seem like they are distant to the conversation. Despite their lack of physical facial expressions they're not completely without them as their eyes tend to brighten when experiencing strong or specific emotions.
Some warforged are incredibly naive and lack introspection; however, many others are the opposite and question their existence, wonder if they have souls and ask what becomes of them in the after life. The more intelligent warforged create complex philosophies about what they perceive and learn.
Though warforged can show loyalty to religions and organisations, typically they become loyal to a small group of comrades. Warforged often have little life experience as they spent most of their time assigned to one specific duty, usually soldiering. If there is one interest all warforged share it is the love of working and many create endless lists of goals and chores. They take pride in their work and work incredibly hard which makes them dislike idleness and failure.
Warforged can excel at most tasks having a single-minded efficiency, especially in combat related roles. War and military conditioning create the foundation of warforged personalities, they understand duty, the chain of command and conflict.
Due to their bodies more closely resembling males than females, most warforged prefer to be called "he" than "it". Some warforged adopt female names though most of their names are straightforward and are related to their job, abilities or rank.Eberron Lore - Warforged (Dungeons & Dragons)
Many warforged simply accept the nicknames given to them by their comrades while others seek to earn more meaningful names that best describe them.
Warforged never tire and rarely allow themselves to become bored. Having no fear of ageing and no need for sleep or food warforged have an almost unending patience, yet a hard life as constant soldiers has accustomed them to endless toil and so long periods of inactivity can make them anxious. A warforged without orders or a task to complete will create one for themselves to keep active. Individual warforged choose different hobbies, yet these activities tend to always be repetitious or unending.Speak with Frogs and Toads.
The bullywug can communicate simple concepts to frogs and toads when it speaks in Bullywug. Swamp Camouflage. The bullywug has advantage on Dexterity Stealth checks made to hide in swampy terrain. Standing Leap. The bullywug's long jump is up to 20 feet and its high jump is up to 10 feet, with or without a running start. These frog-headed amphibious humanoids must stay constantly moist, dwelling in rainy forests, marshes, and damp caves. Always hungry and thoroughly evil, bullywugs overwhelm opponents with superior numbers when they can, but they flee from serious threats to search for easier prey. Bullywugs have green, gray, or mottled yellow skin that shifts through shades of gray, green, and brown, allowing them to blend in with their surroundings. They wear crude armor and wield simple weapons, and can deliver a powerful bite to foes that press too close.
Foul Aristocracy. Bullywugs consider themselves the right and proper rulers of the swamps. They follow an etiquette of sorts when dealing with outsiders and each other, subject to the whims and fancies of their leader — a self-styled lord of the muck.
Bullywugs introduce themselves with grand-sounding titles, make great shows of bowing and debasing themselves before their superiors, and endlessly vie to win their superiors' favor. A bullywug has two ways to advance among its kind. It can either murder its rivals, though it must take pains to keep its criminal deeds secret, or it can find a treasure or magic item and present it as tribute or a token of obeisance to its liege.
A bullywug that murders its rivals without cunning is likely to be executed, so it's more common for bullywugs to stage raids against caravans and settlements, with the goal of securing precious baubles to impress their lords and win their good graces.
Invariably, such fine goods are reduced to filthy tatters through abuse and neglect. Once a gift loses its sheen, a bullywug lord invariably demands that its subjects bring it more treasure as tribute.
Unruly Diplomacy. Bullywugs love nothing more than lording over those who trespass on their territories. Their warriors attempt to capture intruders rather than simply slaying them.Outside this section the class gets mentioned here and there but nothing too in depth specifically. One place artificer does show up is in the stat block for the Lord of Blades.
This is great for two reasons. If our Eberron adventures involve the Lord of Blades, things are bound to involve artificers, Creation Forges and similar themes and trappings.
However you imagine the Lord of Blades in your campaign, one of the consistent aspects of the character is the nation he established deep in the Mournland. Naturally, adventurers will travel there at some point or another. He has established a nation for his people deep in the Mournland, centered in a great fortress where warforged from all over Khorvaire can come and feel a sense of belonging. No one knows what the Lord of Blades plans for his followers, but many fear that he intends to build a legion of warforged zealots, primed to march from the Mournland to unleash destruction on their former masters.
Others cast him as a newer warforged, perhaps the last to come out of the Cannith creation forges before the Thronehold Accords led to their dismantling. One story claims the Lord of Blades caused the destruction of Cyre and warns that he plans to repeat the Day of Mourning in each of the remaining Five Nations. Whatever the truth, he has become a beacon for warforged everywhere. The easiest thing to do is take any of the NPC stat blocks like scout, veteran or apprentice wizard and apply warforged traits.
Along the same lines you can make adjustments to the chosen stat block taken straight from the warforged description. Warforged Features. From here you can simply add artificer class features to the stat block to quickly create a variety of new warforged creatures.
With the wide variety of NPC stat blocks out there and all the amazing artificer features you can take the something as plain as a commoner and create a unique new creature with fun, impactful and memorable abilities. Lord of Blades is the Ultimate Artificer — But He Needs Your Help!
While the others were requests from people in the Nerdarchy community, we thought something Eberron flavored would be fun. Adventurers League will be going live with their Eberron campaign September 21, when season 8 begins. But for Eberron things are a little different. Kind of cool for us because it changes up the different combinations we can make.
On top of the fun we are having with it there does seem to be a demand for these builds, considering three out of our last four builds were requests. That was probably within a couple of days of one our Patreons asking the same thing.
Followed by Circle of Dreams. We do like to sneak in some roleplaying elements as well. These can be found in the video descriptions. They are pay what you want over on the Dungeon Masters Guild, which of course includes downloading them for free. We create a stat block to use as an enemy, ally, or other assorted NPC in your game.
